The Union Government has decided to merge National Mission on
Education through Information and Communication Technology
(NMEICT) and National Knowledge Network (NKN)
to give a wider platform to implement ICT in learning
processes.“The move is aimed at enhancing the potential of information and
communication technology (ICT) in the teaching and learning
processes in universities and research institutions,” an official statement .The
former is run by the Human Resource Development Ministry while
NKN is part of the Ministry Of Communications And Information
Technology.
